Bien Causapin a student from Colchester Institute has been crowned Philadelphia Young Chef of the Year 2012 following a hard fought cook off. 18 year old Bien faced stiff competition from Joshua Saunders from Worcester College of Technology, Shaun Reast from Grimsby Institute and William Breese from Westminster Kingsway College, but his imaginative dish of pan fried hake with mussels in Philadelphia sauce with char grilled red pepper and cheesy potato croquettes took the prize on the day.

He suggests: Garlic stuffed mushrooms with Philadelphia, as well as chicken breasts stuffed with leeks and Philadelphia.

A student from Westminster Kingsway collegee has been crowned Philadelphia Young Chef of the Year 2011, following a hard fought cook off.Nuannapa Ratanakitshorn faced stiff competition from Nicole Waefler, Zoe Lewis and Danny Hoang, but her imaginative dish of breaded lemon sole stuffed with Philadelphia, pea and mint puree and a Philadelphia clam sauce stood out.

The competition was judged by Mike Allen, senior instructor for craft skills in the armed forces, Martin Bates, CEO of the Craft Guild of Chefs, professional chef ans writer, Sophie Wright and Melissa Neild, Brand Manager Philadelphia Away From Home. Martin Bates concluded: "It was very encouraging to see the huge talent on show throughout the competition, which bodes well for the future of the sector."
